1 Corinthians 13

I may speak in different languages of people or even angels. But if I do not have love, I am only a noisy bell or a crashing cymbal.  I may have the gift of prophecy. I may understand all the secret things of God and have all knowledge, and I may have faith so great I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing.  I may give away everything I have, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing if I do not have love.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, is not selfish, and does not get upset with others. Love does not count up wrongs that have been done.  Love takes no pleasure in evil but rejoices over the truth.   Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always endures.
Love never ends. There are gifts of prophecy, but they will be ended. There are gifts of speaking in different languages, but those gifts will stop. There is the gift of knowledge, but it will come to an end. The reason is that our knowledge and our ability to prophesy are not perfect. But when perfection comes, the things that are not perfect will end. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I stopped those childish ways. It is the same with us. Now we see a dim reflection, as if we were looking into a mirror, but then we shall see clearly. Now I know only a part, but then I will know fully, as God has known me. So these three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13, New Century Version)

Yesterday, I gave my two younger brothers, Caleb and Kayden, two glow in the dark stars and took them upstairs to a dark room to demonstrate how they glow. I asked Caleb what he thought about the stars and he said, “Well, they’re kinda cool. When you do them under the pillow and they turn green, it’s like they’re in camouflage.”
It’s so amazing how when you’re young, as young as three and five, you take so much joy in the small things in life, like glow in the dark stars. And then, when you’re my age, you take more joy in bigger little things, like getting an A in school or getting an mp3 player. Wouldn’t life be so much happier if everyone took as much joy in little things like the wonder of glow in the dark stars or even the real ones that God handcrafted? How often do you go outside and look at the stars and think, “Wow, those are so much better than those glow in the dark stars, even though they are pretty cool.”
Can you believe that the same great, awesome, mighty, powerful God made you? God wants you to be like a star, shining in the darkest, dingiest corners of the earth. And He wants you to be amazed at His handiwork. After all, you have to admit that it’s pretty amazing.

What will YOU do to change the next five minutes?

(Watch video before reading post.)

What will YOU do to change the next five minutes? Will you go out in the world and make a difference? Or will you just sit there, thinking about how bad you feel for everything bad that will happen in the next five minutes? In James 2:15-16, it says, "Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.If one of you says to him, 'Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?" And in Matthew 28:19-20 it says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

In the Bible we are commanded to make a differnce in the world, whether it's by helping the billions of orphans and widows, moving to Chile, opening a Children's Home, or doing something completely different. What will YOU do?

In Christ,

Callie

I'm Sorry!

Hey guys,

I am very sorry to tell you that my blog will be closing. Here is the story.

Well, a girl is busy as one may know. For time passes, as one's life begins to grow.
Families get bigger, birthdays get nearer, and one month fades into the next.
She loves to blog, but who has the time? Her feelings of sorrow and joy cannot be expressed
In this simple rhyme.'Twas written a little late. If you want to know why don't go away,
For she is about to say Happy Belated April Fool's Day! :)

Love,
Callie

Hi. I'm Callie. Well, as you probably gathered from my title, I love to read! My parents set a fifty page a day limit on how much I can read (on weekends and holidays I have unlimited read!:). I am also homeschooled! Feel free to comment!
